The Rotary Club of Arbury is not an agency of or controlled by Rotary International
The Rotary Club of Arbury is based in Nuneaton, which is a Warwickshire town very close to the geographical centre of England and in George Eliot country.
The name Arbury comes from the local Arbury Hall, known as the Gothic Gem of the Midlands, and the home of the Newdigate family for centuries.
Fellow Rotarians wishing to visit us and to attend one of our meetings are also made most welcome. Details of our meeting times and programme of activities are given elsewhere on this site.
Collectively as a Club, and individually in our different ways, we devote our time, energy and abilities to the benefit of others. We seek "to make a difference" in our local and international communities through our commitment to Rotary's ideals of service, enterprise and fellowship.
We are an active dual-gender club of some thirty four members and we warmly welcome contact with potential new members who would like to find out more about Rotary in general and our own club in particular.
Above all we recognise that such a commitment to service and worthy enterprise, rewarding as it is, should also be fun and you will see that our programme includes many interesting events and visits which we and our partners enjoy in that other Rotary ideal - Fellowship.
Fellowship is the backbone of Rotary, and from this we are able to achieve high levels of voluntary service.
The pages of our website give a flavour of the wide range of projects and activities in which we are involved. We take a "hands-on" approach to many activities which benefit the local community, in addition to raising funds for nominated charities; and we also seek to promote international understanding and goodwill.
You may well find it interesting to read the recollections of one of our founder members.
